Real Madrid vs Barcelona. Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi. The two best players in the world are the two biggest stars of two of the biggest clubs in the world.

Cristiano Ronaldo has perfected every skill there is, he is completely two-footed, scores so many goals and can hang in the air for about one second before heading the ball perfectly into the goal.
He is perhaps a better all-round player than Messi but Messi is a more instinctive player than Ronaldo; more natural.
He is the most prolific goal scorer in the world. He skips past people like they aren’t there, making everything look so simple and easy. But they’re both amazing, so who do you choose?

Cristiano Ronaldo
He is truly amazing. When he played for Manchester United, in his later years there, he was the best player in the world, no doubt about it. No one really came close. The silky skills he uses to get past people like they aren’t there are something else; something he’s perfected to a tee.
And then there are his free kicks. The goalkeeper just stands there as the ball flies past him, as dazed as can be. When you’re a winger and you’re your club’s top scorer with 40 plus goals a season, you’re special.
When you’re so good that you’re manager basically lets you have a free role in the team, you’re special. Ronaldo is special, that’s for sure. But does he face having an opponent who’s even more special than him?

Lionel Messi
He has won more Ballon d’Or titles than anyone else and is nowhere near finished yet. He has broken practically all the records, even surpassing Gerd Müller’s record of 85 goals in one calendar year.
He didn’t just beat the record; he smashed it. The Argentinian outscored him by six goals, scoring 91 goals in total in 2012. And if anyone is ever going to break that record again, then I’d put money on it being Messi breaking his own record.
He’s superhuman but with humility. He glides past people with elegance and scores goals with such simplicity, it’s unreal. He makes football seem like the simplest thing in the world.
There is not a lot to choose between them but the fact that Messi stays so humble when being officially the best player in the world (as he’s the most recent winner of the Ballon d’Or) clinches it.

But as everyone has their own favourite, who would you choose? Messi or Ronaldo? Instinctive or perfected?
